Vice President of Finance

With our groundbreaking satellite 5G constellation, OQ Technology is a global leader in the domain of IoT communication connectivity and associated services. We are a venture capital backed company with a successful track record of satellite launches and the first company in the world to disrupt the telecommunication industry by merging cellular 5G with satellites.

Our technology will have massive implications to the Oil & Gas, Maritime, Industry 4.0, and Transport segments, particularly for the management and tracking of assets in remote and rural areas and extending 5G coverage through non-terrestrial networks.

As our wireless technologies are constantly evolving and winning multiple awards, with funding for next phase secured, and commercial traction demonstrated, we are now looking to on-board our Vice President of Finance to drive and execute the financial and corporate activities of our organization.

Directly reporting to our dynamic CEO, you will lead the financial planning, operations and reporting activities, build our corporate and finance organization to achieve our ambitious business targets for 2023 and beyond, and lead our efforts to position OQ Tech for the next funding round to achieve our long term growth plans. This role is also foreseen to be the first step towards a Chief Financial Officer role in future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise business, financial and tax planning activities, and prepare periodic budgets and operational forecasting
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that support the company’s strategic direction and monitor actual results versus business targets. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.
  • Oversee financial operations of OQ Tech, including international subsidiaries and third party service providers. Manage lead-to-order process and invoicing/accounting activities.
  • Oversee all financial reporting activities to management, Board of Directors, shareholders, auditors, etc. and report risk issues across all corporate functions of the company
  • Lead debt and equity financing activities of the company and maintain regular interaction with existing and prospective equity and debt holders, as well as the financial market
  • Contribute to M&A activities and lead financial due diligence and negotiations
  • Supervise legal and regulatory operations, and monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry; ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and other regulatory financial requirements including auditing
  • Ensure full and timely financial reporting in accordance with international financial reporting standards
  • Supervise all finance personnel

Key Qualifications:

  • A proven track record (10+ years) with prior experience as a CFO or equivalent role in a satellite or telecom or IT company
  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is required
  • MSc/MBA/CFA is a plus
  • Knowledge of IFRS financial reporting standards
  • A strong track record in dealing with different types of stakeholders and executing investment opportunities
  • Proven track record of fund raising activities and established network in the financial market
  • M&A experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Luxembourg corporate law, accounting and tax rules.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management practices
  • Proficiency in the use of financial management software and MS office
  • Problem-solving and can do attitude
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • People management and development skills, and effective communication skills
  • Languages: Fluency in English (French & German considered a plus).
